Description

I came across an error while backing up one of my workstations. The first error that came up displayed:

Error 0x80070002

  • This turned out that I had a bad Restore Point. I went into Control Panel -> System -> System Protection -> Configure -> Delete, this will delete every Restore Point on the machine. Make sure click Ok -> Create to create an initial Restore Point.

However another error came up:

Error 0x8100002F

  • This turned out that there are a few things included in the Windows Backup program that cannot be backed up. Specifically Contacts and Searches, which were not essential to include in my backups to I disabled them by going into Control Panel -> Backup and Restore -> Change Settings -> Next -> Let Me Choose -> Next and then opening each users Libraries -> Additional Locations and unchecking Contacts and Searches
