Description
This is a guide on installing PiHole on Debian.
Prepare the Environment¶
- Update the system:
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
- Install dependencies:
apt-get install git
- Edit the
/etc/network/interfaces
file:nano /etc/network/interfaces
- And modify the file accordingly to set a static IP address:
# The primary network interface allow-hotplug eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.0.33 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.0.1
- And modify the file accordingly to set a static IP address:
- Apply network changes:
service networking restart
Install PiHole¶
- Download and run installer:
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/pi-hole/pi-hole.git Pi-hole cd "Pi-hole/automated install/" bash basic-install.sh
