Description

This is a simple setup for using bluetooth to play audio from a smartphone, in my case android, to a desktop running Arch Linux.

NOTE: This guide requires that the pavucontrol installed as well as the bluetooth service installed and running.

  1. Pair the smartphone to the Arch Linux desktop.
  2. Open pavucontrol and go to Configuration.
  3. From the Configuration section, select the profile pull-down menu for the paired device and choose High Fidelity Capture (A2DP Source).

Now audio played from the smartphone will be played over the desktop speakers.
